Atlas Copco started its sales activities in China as early as 1920s, initially via import from Europe. In 1959, the first Atlas Copco company was established in Taiwan. The four business areas of Atlas Copco Group —namely, Construction Technique, Industrial Technique, Compressor Technique and Mining and Rock Excavation Technique—have begun operations in China by selling air and gas compressors, portable compressors, generators, mining and rock excavation equipment, construction tools, pneumatic and electric power tools, and assembly systems through a global network with a strong brand portfolio operation. All of these are backed up by a nationwide sales, distribution, service and maintenance network.
Atlas Copco has witnessed the tremendous changes that have taken place since China opened up and embarked on its reform drive, and is committed to providing sustainable, productive solutions to meet higher demands from customers with regard to productivity, safety, ergonomics, etc.
Atlas Copco China’s headquarters is located in Shanghai, with more than 30 entities throughout Greater China. By the end of 2014, Atlas Copco China employed over 6300 employees and operated 300 sales and service branches and offices in China. As one of the most important markets to the Group, Atlas Copco China will develops further its market and expand the presence in China, through innovative industrial solutions with increasing sustainable productivity to the Chinese customers.
