Atlas Copco’s human rights strategy
Atlas Copco has sales and service operations in countries with a high risk of human rights abuse, as well as production in complex markets. In order to uphold our commitment to the UN Guiding Principles, Group companies in such countries are encouraged to evaluate processes and relationships, and to minimize such risks, aided by a set of guidance documents from Atlas Copco.
At Atlas Copco, ongoing and future human rights due diligences will be conducted in countries of operation where breaches to human rights are considered a high or medium risk. We supports our business partners and customers to develop in line with our values, to be a responsible corporate citizen where we operate.
Community engagement and charity
Besides supporting local community engagement and charity projects, our Group policy encourages companies to give support in the case of natural and humanitarian disasters, which is short-term and often given as financial funds or products, such as compressors. Employee-led initiatives are encouraged and supported by a financial ‘matching’ principle in which Group companies match employee financial donations with company funds. However, the employee-managed organization Water for All is the main initiative of this type of engagement. Thanks to Water for All more than 1.5 million people worldwide have gained access to clean drinking water.
