Gery Yao Project Team Leader, Asia Application Center, Industrial Technique Business Area, Atlas Copco (Shanghai) Trading. Co., Ltd. China

“Atlas Copco pays attention to grow talents.”

Atlas Copco China - Gery Yao
Graduated from Nanjing University of Science & Technology in 1996, with a major in Automation, and got a Master of Engineering Degree in 2011 at the School of Mechanical Engineering, Shanghai Jiao Tong University, where my major was in Project Management.During the past 18 years, I have worked in institute, private enterprise, Taiwan-capital enterprise and an American invested company. Before I joined Atlas Copco, I had worked for Rockwell Automation for 5 years.

I joined the Application Center Asia in ITBA in April, 2010, as a project manager, and was appointed as the Project Team Manager of the Center on October 1, 2011. As the supervisor of the project management team, I have got some very special and unforgettable experience during the 2.5 years.

It has also been very important and critical to my personal development.  The company treasures talente people and their development. It is a people-oriented culture with a clear strategy down to the details.Compared to other multi-national companies, Atlas Copco has a complete and perfect system for talent selection and development, which is carried out in a very practical way. Employees have more internal opportunities and space for development.

We take the perspective of other people whenever communicating with customers, colleagues, subordinates, and superiors, so as to seek common goals and solutions that are acceptable to all.

My line manager (General Manager of Application Center), my team, other co-operating departments, and the management of application centers in Europe and US give me strong support. My greatest satisfaction comes from the recognition of various working partners.

I like reading and sports. My motto is: Change your mind, change everything, change the world.

I would like to share my experience and energy with my team and the organization, and develop together with them, so as to complete the reform this year and reach our growth goal.
