Atlas Copco GA series helps Hanking shift from surface to underground mining

Hanking Industrial Group Co., Ltd. was established in early 1990s. As one of the largest private companies in iron mining and processing in Northeast China, the company is focusing on mining, metallurgy, commerce, large industrial bearing, and microelectronics motor system (MEMS) manufacturing

Since 2011, some of Hanking’s mining business turned to underground from surface. Considering all Hanking surface mining operations are between 50 - 150m below the ground level, together with its operation shifts and the use frequency of their pneumatic picks, technical sales engineers from Atlas Copco constructed air compressor stations for Hanking on the ground, with GA series oil injection screw compressors installed.

Currently, about 30 units of Atlas Copco stationary oil injection screw compressors including GA 355, GA250, GA132, and GA110 models are running in Hanking’s major mines such as Aoniu, and Shangma.
Each unit of its GA series air compressor is designed, manufactured and tested in compliance with ISO9001, ISO14001and ISO1217 standards. The latest generation of patented oil injection screw compressor from Atlas Copco ensures the compressor with minimized operation cost, long lasting and stable running states.
For mining application, the specialized design of the GA series for mining environment further strengthened its reliability to ensure the working temperature up to 55°C. Under harsh working conditions, i.e., high content of dust, humidity and high temperature, GA series air compressor remains high efficiency. At the same time, the GA series achieved a new standard of environmental protection and energy efficiency. The newly designed screw rotors reduce the energy demand by 5%-6%, which contributes to environmental protection while saving energy cost.

Mr Li, Mining Supplies Department Manager from Hanking told us, “In April, the surface mining project in Aoniu Mine achieved its full operation, with output expects to surpass 110, 000 tons/month. It set a new record in the history of surface mining production. This record cannot be achieved without the high efficiency of Atlas Copco air compressors, especially the compressed air system solutions which are designed according to our actual operational conditions and requirement. ”

Mr. Bai Yang, sales engineer of Atlas Copco Compressor Technique also said, “According to customers’ demand, Atlas Copco provides the most optimum solution to help customers gain the most efficient compressed air systems while optimizing the entire production process at the highest level for customers.”

Mr. Li added, “To achieve reasonable economic stripping ratio in the future, Hanking will gradually shift to underground mining. The annual output growth of iron ore will be around 10%-15%, which will definitely need more professional and high efficient underground air power solutions from Atlas Copco in the near future.”
Hanking advocates developing “safety, harmony and green mines” while Atlas Copco is dedicated to provide professional, efficient and energy saving air power systems. The two companies are sharing the same vision.
