Atlas Copco Create a Professional Blasting Ace
To increase the mechanization and production efficiency of blasting, Yunnan Tianyu Blasting Technology Co., Ltd introduced in February 2013 a unit of Atlas Copco PowerROC D55 hydraulic surface drilling rig and successfully applied it in the earthwork levelling project on a white sand land in Kunming, Yunnan.
Town on Hills Bring Great Difficulty
As introduced by Zhang Jiayun, manager of the security equipment department of Yunnan Tianyu Blasting Technology Co., Ltd., this is a construction site leveling task on a white sand land. The project is located at the Street Office of Majie Street, Xishan District, Kunming. The average elevation is 2,500m and the rock hardness is F=10. The overall amount of rock blasting is 3,500~4,000 thousand cubic meters. There are 4 unit of blasting drilling rigs on the construction site, among which there are 3 units of split pneumatic drilling rigs and 1 unit of PowerROC D55 drilling rig. There are two difficulties in the construction: one is that the rock stratum is mixed with sands and soil, which are easy to cause clamping and jamming; the other is that Kunming has a large rainfall this year and the total rainfall as of July this year is 50% more than total rainfall of the last whole year. Rains may enter holes and bring great trouble to the blasting. Moreover, the mountain here is steep. There is almost no operation platform. This brings stricter requirements for the climbing capability of a drill.
Under these conditions, Yunnan Tianyu Blasting Technology Co., Ltd. decidedly introduces a unit of Atlas Copco PowerROC D55 drilling rig and gains good effects. When talking about the idea to choose this equipment, Manager Zhang Jiayun said: “Atlas Copco’s PowerROC D55 drilling rig is stable, efficient, easy, safe and green, which can fully satisfy with our requirements for a drill, and its excellent climbing capability also help us solving many problems in the construction.”
In fuel consumption, Atlas Copco’s PowerROC D55 drilling rig also has excellent performance. Its general fuel consumption in the earthwork leveling project on the white sand land is 45L/h. As compared superficially, other drill rigs used on the site have similar fuel consumption per hour, but D55 has larger hole diameter and higher penetration efficiency, which means the fuel consumption per m3 and m is far less than others.
Gu Tao, a drill operator of Yunnan Tianyu Blasting Technology Co., Ltd., has rich experience in drill driving and operating. When talking about the experience using PowerROC D55, he said: “this drill is easy to operate. Its cab is safe and comfortable, with little noise. Its dry dust-collecting system can effectively reduce dust and improve our operation environment.” Because of the improvement of mechanization, not only the number of operators is reduced, but also the human costs are decreased, and moreover, the safety is greatly improved.
Manager Zhang Jiayun is very satisfied with the cooperation with Atlas Copco. He said: “Under the great support of Atlas Copco’s PowerROC D55 drilling rig, we are confident in the achievement of 2013’s goal of breaking through the output of RMB 100 million yuan per year, and with the growth of the company, we will purchase more of Atlas Copco’s equipment and make ourselves an ace army in the field of professional blasting.”
