Atlas Copco ROC T35M drill rigs guarantee benefits of mines
China Resource Shanxi Fulong Cement Co., Ltd. purchsed Altas Copco ROC T 35M drill rig in the early May 2009 and purchased ROC L6 drill rigs earlier. ROC L6 is the main mining equipment,while ROC T35M is used as the auxiliary equipment for production and is widely used to small-area mining, repair and maintain the working platform, roads and side slope, and also to drill some small holes. Its flexible maneuverability has left deep impression to customer.
As the recycling economic project gaining key supports from the National Development and Reform Commission, China Resource Shanxi Fulong Cement Co., Ltd. has, early in the design phase, taken the sustainable development of the mine into consideration, not only making full use of the resources and protecting the environment, but also selecting the equipments with high efficiency, low consumption and environmental protection. As for the mining equipments in the mine, two drill rigs of ROC L6 and ROC T 35M of Atlas Copco which are widely used in the cement mines are selected.
China Resource Shanxi Fulong Cement Co., Ltd. purchsed Altas Copco ROC T35M drill rigs in early May 2009 and purchased ROC L6 drill rigs earlier. ROC L6 is the main mining equipment of the mine, with the array pitch of hole net parameters adopting 3.5*5.5m, penetration hole diameter of 152mm, and hole depth of 17.5m. ROC T35M is used as the auxiliary equipment for production and is widely used to small-area mining, repair and maintain the working platform, roads and side slope, and also to drill some small holes. ROC T35M adopts the drill of 89mm with the common depth of 12m and the average drilling rate of 35m/h.
At present, ROC T35M drill rig does a lot in preparation of the stope and makes preparation for two ROC L6 drill rigs to mine in a large area in 2011. As the upgraded product of ECM580 drill rig, ROC T35M features . After adding the logic drill system, the phenomena such as the drill is blocked and the drill stem is broken have decreased; at the same time, the drill cost is sharply reduced. In this regard, Xiao Fuxiang, section chief of the equipment management and maintenance section of the mine department has a lot to say: “what ROC T35M drill rig impresses me most is the flexible maneuverability. With the logic drilling control system, it can achieve excellent effects in treatment of rocks in the working condition of complex rocks with fractures and hollow holes with lower drill costs and small loss of the drill. ROC T35M drill rig can also be used even if the mining equipments are under the maintenance because of its strong adapability.”
In the main mining area of China Resource Shanxi Fulong Cement Co., Ltd., the roof structure of the ore body is mainly the yellow clay and brownish red clay in the upper Pleistocene series with dense coverage layer of 0-40m. In the average, the ore is made up of calcium oxide of 53.06%, magnesium oxide of 1.22%, silicon dioxide of 2.21%, aluminium oxide of 0.29%, and ferric oxide of 0.19%. The main component of the earth of the coverage layer is aluminium oxide of 1.5%-1.7%, ferric oxide of 4.63%-5.87%, and silicon dioxide of 56.98%-57.82%. So, with the good structure of the earth layer in the mine, high quality rocks and low content of harmful substance of the ores, from the clay to the roofs can be used as the ingredient together with the ores in accordance with the requirements of the ingredient of the cements. Zero emmission is realized since no waste dump of barren rocks is establised in the mine. It mainly adopts the stripping method by section in the mine to fully decrease the stripping ratio, resulting in the high utilization ratio of the ores in the mine and high comprehensive quality control index.
At the site of the mine, two drill rigs of Atlas Copco are working. As the mine is exploited before, in order to make full use of resources, the work of mining as well as arranging the working platform is mainly conducted in the mining area to make preparation for the large-scale mining in the future. After using the drill rigs for a period, in addition to praising the efficiency of the drills, section chief Xiao Fuxiang is also satified with the after-sales service of Atlas Copco. “Our production department of the mine is made up of four sections including the mining section, motor transportation section, crushing section and maintenance section. Our operators have been trained by Altas Copco in Fujian and Guangxi, etc. before being dispatched to Shanxi, and have had good foundation. After arriving in Shanxi, the after-sales staffs of Altas Copco also deliver the site trainings to the operators, which enable operators to master more proficient operational skills and help increase the production efficiency substantially.”
While doing a good job in the production of the mine, China Resource Shanxi Fulong Cement Co. Ltd. also attaches much importance to the safety and environmental protection. 244.8 million kW power is generated with the waste heat every year to save standard coals of more than 3,700 tons. Besides, the Company plants trees in the mine, recovers the vegetation and decreases the soil erosion to make preparations for earthing, reclaimation, and planting trees and fostering the forest.
