Atlas Copco’s Tricone Bit Won Customers’ Satisfaction with Excellent Performance
Nanfen open-pit mine introduced a unit of Atlas Copco PV351 drill rig in 2010 configured with Atlas Copco 12 1/4” F7 blasthole tricone bit so as to improve efficiency and mechanization degree and reduce cost.
At present, Nanfen Open-pit Mine has become one of the monomer mines with the highest annual output. Its content of iron ore reaches up to 30%, annual stripping amount totals 100 million tons and annual ore output is 16 million tons. In addition, Nanfen Open-pit Mine introduced a unit of Atlas Copco PV351 drill rig in 2010 configured with Atlas Copco 12 1/4” F7 blasthole tricone bit so as to improve efficiency and mechanization degree and reduce cost.
Difficult to Exploit
It’s reported that Benxi city has a relatively big annual temperature difference with the maximum temperature of 40℃ and the minimum temperature of -40℃, more rain in summer, mean annual precipitation of 800-900mm and altitude of 350m. Besides, drilling tools are easy to be abrased and eroded due to its hardness of rock and moisture content in stratum, causing the early degradation or abandonment of drilling tools and bringing the mine a double loss both on economy and production efficiency.
High Penetration Rate
Under the same condition that Atlas Copco PV351 drill rig is used, rated flow and rated pressure of air compressor are 3800 c.f. per minute and 110 pounds per square inch respectively, feed pressure is 150 bar and rotary speed is 90 rpm, the average penetration rate and average service life of Atlas Copco 12 1/4” F7 blasthole tricone bits and domestic tricone bits of other brands are shown as follows:
Comparison of penetration rate and service life
|Brand||Atlas Copco||Other brands|
|Average hole depth (unit:m)||21||21|
|Average drilling time per hole (unit: minute)||55||80|
|Average penetration rate (m/min)||0.38||0.26|
|Average service life (m)||1150||380|
According to Yan Xiaokun, Commander of Atlas Copco PV351 drill rig, “we have never used such a good tricone bit like this before. Though its price is a little higher than other bands, considering the high production efficiency and good cost performance, we still choose Atlas Copco.”
