USTB was founded in 1952 based on a combination of faculty members from five eminent universities including Peiyang University. Today it has grown into one of the most influential key national universities directly under the Ministry of Education, with a focus on engineering and a balanced development of multiple disciplines such as engineering, science, management, culture, economics, law, philosophy and education. Currently, USTB boasts four first-level national key disciplines: metallurgical engineering, history of science and technology, materials science and engineering, and mining engineering. They are renowned at home and abroad for their academic achievement.

As for this cooperation with an enterprise, Professor Ning Xiaojun, Vice Dean of Graduate School, USTB, says: “USTB’s Atlas Copco Master of Mining Engineering Class, as a starting point for the cooperation of both sides, will promote multi-faceted, deep-seated cooperation in production, academia, and research, advance the combination of teaching and research results with the production of the company, bring up high-level comprehensive talents in the areas of production, research, design, management for the company, and further the scientific and technological development of the company.”

Mr. Bjorn Rosengren thanks USTB for the establishment of this graduate program and hopes that the two sides may have further cooperation in technical development and product R&D. Atlas Copco remains committed to sustainable productivity and hope more partners may join in this commitment.
