Atlas Copco Attends 2nd China International Piling and Deep Foundations Summit
The 2nd China International Piling and Deep Foundations Summit was held in Galaxy Hotel, Shanghai on Mar. 20-21, 2012. The conference focused on the theme of “pile foundation innovation technology and efficient construction” and attracted 35 speakers and more than 400 audience from 11 countries—China, U.K., France, Germany, United States, South Korea, Holland, Finland, Italy, etc. Two technical experts from Atlas Copco were invited to present at the conference and made wonderful speeches.
To give the audience latest information in pile foundation field, Barrow Turner, Product Manager for Foundation Drilling Atlas Copco Secoroc delivered a speech titled “High Speed Standard and Reverse Circulation Foundation Drilling” on March 21, introducing a new large-bore rapid drilling approach (1-3m/h) in rocks of 50-300MPa as well as DTH hammers suitable to this approach. Simple maintenance yet robust design enables rapid bit change and easy installation and removal of drill rods. Barrow Turner’s speech caused great interest and interaction of representatives in the conference.
China has become one of the largest pile demander in the world in recent years. The summit provides an international academic exchange platform for the industry through interactive communication, study and discussion and lays groundwork for improving international pile foundation construction technology and achieving sustainable development of pile foundation field.
