Atlas Copco Attends 3rd Annual Unconventional Hydrocarbons Summit

2012-04-26

The 3rd Annual Unconventional Hydrocarbons Summit sponsored by Atlas Copco opened in Beijing on March 22, 2012. Experts in unconventional natural gas filed both home and abroad discussed the future of unconventional hydrocarbons development focusing on “Exploring Business Goldmine and Realizing Technological Breakthrough”.

Shane A. Lein, Product Manager for Oil and Gas Drilling Equipment at Atlas Copco Drilling Solutions, Garland, Texas was invited to present at the conference and introduced shallow petroleum, natural gas, coal bed gas market and use of Atlas Copco Drill Equipment in Asia and China. His splendid speech caused great interest and interaction of representatives in the conference. “We will continuously adapt our hydrocarbon well drill design concept to Chinese coal bed gas mechanism and exploration technology and make our contributions to more diversified utilization of energy resources in China,” he said.

China holds up to 30 trillion cubic meters of shale gas resources. China’s goal is to realize that 12% of natural gas production comes from shale gas wells by 2020. In this case, China will have to solve some difficulties—deep burying of shale gas, large difficulty in exploration, lack in relevant talents and lag in technology. The large rotary drills and advanced solutions from Oil and Gas Drilling Equipment at Atlas Copco Drilling Solutions can help customers solve technical problems and thus realizing ideal exploration and production.

As sponsor of this summit, experts from Atlas Copco and other representatives on the conference discuss new topics in the industry and analyze critical technical fields and demonstration project planning, which helps enterprises of this industry learn industrial development, evaluate state of the art and set up practical strategy.
