2013 Atlas Copco scholarship-stipend fund-faculty grant programs for Chinese universities
On December 25 and 26, 2013 , Atlas Copco scholarship-stipend fund-faculty grant programs awarding ceremony were held in Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology and Xinjiang University respectively, with 55 students and 10 teachers in total awarded prizes.
Devotion to education and public programs

With the active participation and innovations in these community programs, Atlas Copco was awarded “The AmCham Shanghai Annual Corporate Social Responsibility Award” in 2012 and rated as one of “Most sustainable companies and one of “world’s most ethical companies” on the World Economic Forum in 2013. These awards further recognized the efforts and contributions made by Atlas Copco in terms of corporate social responsibilities and public benefit activities.
Boost talent development
The scholarship (stipend) program is aimed at giving awards to students who are excellent in both character and learning and provide economic aids for students from poor families; the 55 students who were awarded Atlas Copco Scholarship are excellent students who have made innovation in terms of theoretical learning and social practices.
Zhang Jiansi, a representative of these students, is from Tianjin; she is a junior student in the Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology; she was awarded the Atlas Copco Outstanding Female Volunteer Prize in the ceremony.
Over the past three years, Zhang Jiansi has spared no effort to acquire academic knowledge and participate in campus and social activities from which she gained a lot. By taking part in the "activities in rural areas” in summer vacation, she understood the benefits of new rural construction for farmers; in the activities for caring elderly persons with no family, she and other volunteers brought happiness for these elderly persons and inherited civilization with spirit of volunteer. She has grown to be an enthusiastic, self-disciplined and highly responsible student over the last three years. She remarked: “the Atlas Copco Scholarship-stipend program is significant because it is a kind of recognition, motivation and honor. The honor has motivated me to try harder and learn more knowledge, stimulated me to be more conscientious and diligent and constantly enhanced my comprehensive abilities; after graduating from the university, the honor will motivate me to spare no effort to be a useful person for the whole society. ”
Talent training relay
The cooperation between Atlas Copco Mining and Rock Excavation Technique Customer Center Greater China and well-known universities in China was initiated in 2009. The close cooperation with universities has fully embodied Atlas Copco’s corporate culture, social commitment as well as unswerving faith for sustainable development.
The Schools of Mechanical Engineering in Xinjiang University and Inner Mongolia University of Science and Technology are domestic higher education institutions with remarkable scientific research advantages in terms of mechanical design and manufacturing and so forth.
