Atlas Copco China establishes scholarship at Xian Jiaotong University
October 30, 2007 – Atlas Copco, the world leading provider of industrial productivity solutions today signed agreement with Xian Jiaotong University, to establish ‘Atlas Copco Scholarship’, aiming to award good performing students in Bachelor Degree and Master Degree studies, as well as outstanding teachers who contribute to the China education development. 

Atlas Copco has a strong reputation for its innovations and has been at the leading edge of technological development in the past 130 years. Since entering Chinese market in 1993, Atlas Copco's business has been growing rapidly in China. Today, Atlas Copco has 15 companies (including 11 factories), 120 field offices, and over 2,600 employees in mainland China.

According to Edward Jones, to establish “Atlas Copco Scholarship” in top Chinese Universities is also a landmark step forward for both Atlas Copco and the universities to have joint efforts with commitment to the continuing education development of Chinese Engineers. Besides, Atlas Copco is also seeking to utilize core competencies from within the Group, to add value and generate learning opportunities for new generations in China.

‘Atlas Copco Scholarship’ in Xian Jiaotong University will cover 9 Bachelor Degree and Master Degree students. Besides, 5 students who live in poverty will get financial aids from ‘Atlas Copco Stipend Fund’.  Atlas Copco will also establish the same scholarship in Huazhong University of Science & Technology and Shanghai Jiaotong University.
