Atlas Copco brings new products to bauma China 2010

2010-11-26

A series of new products, from rigs to consumables, spare parts, and services, highlighted the 900 sqm space in bauma and became the best manifestation of Atlas Copco’s view of committed to sustainable productivity.

On November 23-26, bauma China 2010, the 5th International Trade Fair for Construction Machinery, Building Material Machines, Construction Vehicles and Equipment, was held in Shanghai. 1,858 exhibitors from 37 countries and regions and more than 150,000 visitors attended the exhibition. They all witnessed the new products that Atlas Copco introduced to the China market and saw the high productivity that Atlas Copco brought to customers under the commitment of sustainable productivity.

A series of new products, from rigs to consumables, spare parts, and services, highlighted the 900 sqm space and became the best manifestation of Atlas Copco’s view of committed to sustainable productivity. These innovative products included Powercrusher PC5, Boomer XL3 D drill rig, CDM30 blast hole drill rig, PowerROC T35 top hammer surface drilling rig, AirROC D45SH DTH crawler rig, C6 core drilling rig, SmartRig simulator, light compactor and breaker, and drilling tools.

Many of these products are designed in China by Chinese engineers, primarily for Chinese customers. Our target is that these new products will provide for higher productivity and lower energy consumption. For example, the new D45SH semi hydraulic DTH crawler will have over 20% fuel saving during drilling and have even more saving when doing rod change and positioning. The new HB 2000 hydraulic breaker, thanks to a new design with  high operational efficiency, can have a saving of up to 2 700 liter of fuel per year comparing to some of the competition breakers in the same category. The new CDM30 rotary drill has a new control system and cabin, designed to provide enhanced operator environment and in the end provide higher, and sustainable, productivity.

Atlas Copco is getting into the mobile crusher business, by acquiring the Austrian company Hartl Powercrusher. Besides the synergies of this product with our current ones, we believe the mobile crusher solutions will bring the Chinese business improved, sustainable efficiency in both mining and quarry applications. For example, the mobile crusher solution can bring lower energy consumption when used in combination with conveyor systems.

We always strive to develop our products for increased productivity and to be more energy efficient.  Be it making our products faster, more energy efficient, safer or more ergonomic, the effect should be increased productivity. We achieve this by adhering to a few core values: Commitment, interaction and innovation, and it will benefit much to our customers.
