Atlas Copco cement and aggregate mining equipment seminar held in Nanjing


April 14, 2015 – Nanjing, China: Mining Energy Conservation through High Efficiency Equipment – Cement and Aggregates Mining Equipment Technology Seminar, co-sponsored by China Cement Association (CCA) and China Aggregates Association (CAA) and organized by the Atlas Copco Mining and Rock Excavation Technique, was held in Nanjing on April 14. The meeting was well-attended by over 100 cement and aggregates specialists and representatives from leading manufacturers.

Rising state energy conservation and emission reduction requirements have caused cement and aggregates enterprises to become increasingly concerned about energy related performance during mining activities as the industry grows. In their speeches at the seminar, CCA and CAA leaders spoke about the importance of high-efficiency equipment for the development of the mining industry, and about how the seminar facilitates energy conservation and emission reduction in mining operations by introducing companies to the latest developments in relevant technologies and products.

SHI Jingxi, Secretary-General of the Green Mining Working Committee of China Mining Association, opined during the seminar that “Green mining is characterized by the expansion of excavation operations, continuous production and equipment modernization. By using large, highly-efficient and durable mining equipment, energy efficiency can be improved and environmental pollution reduced, thereby facilitating a shift in mining towards energy-saving, automation and standardization.”

The seminar participants visited the Tongling cement quarry and were all deeply impressed by the robust performance of a 10-year-old Atlas Copco DM45 rotary drill rig and the strong and eco-friendly operational capabilities of the FlexiROC D50 surface drilling rig.
