Eight communities picked to receive Solvatten units

Stockholm, Sweden, June 4, 2012: Atlas Copco has selected eight communities worldwide to receive Solvatten household water treatment units in commemoration of the World Water Day. The recipients were selected by Atlas Copco and Solvatten representatives after evaluating 35 proposals sent in by Atlas Copco employees from all over the world.

Atlas Copco China - water for all China - Widespread employee donations in our companies!
Atlas Copco strongly supports Water for All’s motto that clean drinking water is a human right. The innovative Solvatten units, which use solar energy to purify water from bacteria, parasites and viruses, can provide an entire family with clean drinking water. The initiative to donate 100 units to communities in need was announced by Atlas Copco on March 22, the World Water Day. The Group is very impressed with the positive response.
The eight communities to be awarded Solvatten units are:
The Ik tribe in the Morungole Mountains, Uganda (Proposed by Ray Shelor)
Veifa’a, Papua New Guinea (Robert Swan)
Happiness village, China (Winston Zhu)
