Atlas Copco introduces a new generation of highly efficient compressors to China
Wuxi, China, November 2, 2012: Atlas Copco launches a new generation of oil-free and oil-injected compressors and air dryers for the Chinese market. The new generation is designed to provide high-quality compressed air while reaching its new height in reliability and energy efficiency.
The new compressors incorporate the latest generation of Atlas Copco’s state-of-the-art compression elements based on innovative asymmetric rotor profiles and a high-quality drive system, ensuring a long and trouble-free life at the lowest operating cost. A refrigerant dryer and air filter is for the first time integrated with the new product, GA 90-160 Full Feature, and introduced to the Chinese market, which can ensure the continuous supply of clean and dry air to extend the life of equipment, and avoids costly downtime and production delays. Besides, Atlas Copco has designed the durable GA MAS 110-160 especially for the harsh marine environment.
Energy accounts for 80% of the Life Cycle Cost for compressors, and energy savings usually means big cost savings for the users, which is significant in the current context of economic downturns. With the innovative designs in screw elements and motor, the new products can give the optimum combination of maximum free air delivery for low energy consumption. The Variable Speed Drive (VSD), equipped in new GA 250VSD and ZR/ZT 75-90 VSD/VSD-FF, reduces energy costs by a further 35% on average. Efficient natural gas package VIP 2715 D CNG piston compressor, horizontally opposed with an integrated VSD, is also being launched.

Activities like pharmaceutical production, food and beverage processing, critical electronics or in a similarly exacting industry demand the highest levels of purity and bear no risk of oil contamination. Atlas Copco was the first company to receive the Class 0 certification for oil content according to ISO 8573-1, 2001, for its ZR/ZT range of compressors, by TÜV in Germany. The ZR/ZT 75-90 VSD/VSD-FF is being launched to complement this range, offering oil-free air and the minimal impact on the environment.
