Water for all has been is the main community engagement initiative of the Atlas Copco Group. It was founded in Sweden in 1984 by Atlas Copco employees and the initiative has continued to spread across the world ever since. Over the past 36 years, the company will donate twice as the amount of money on top of its employees' monthly voluntary contributions to provide clean drinking water and sanitation to those in need.
In 2004, Water for All was introduced in China, and now more than 3,900 employees are contributing on monthly basis. Until now, 10 projects have been completed in Yunnan, Guizhou, Gansu and Shaanxi provinces and includes the construction of water reservoirs, public toilets and garbage disposal tanks, the delivery of tap water to households, and training in hygiene, health and nutrition. So far, more than 29,000 local villagers have been supported to obtain clean drinking water, including more than 9,870 children.
