Meet the Power Technique Team - Kasia Doroba
As Atlas Copco celebrates 100 years in the UK, we get to know our team better and share some memories of Atlas Copco over their careers
Our current Year in Industry student, George, has been interviewing members of the Power Technique Team to gather some memories and some insight into why Atlas Copco stands the test of time.

How long have you worked for Atlas Copco?
I started working for Atlas Copco Tools division in early December 2013. I was employed as a temporary staff member but was told that if I did well in the six months I was there for, they would offer me a permanent position. I remember 15 days before Christmas, they told me I could have the permanent position, it was like a Christmas present.
What is your current role within Power Technique?
At the minute, I am Customer Support Supervisor. My team is just the two of us, me and Novak, and we look after the orders as soon as they are received from a customer, to delivery and whatever happens after that. So, after care, answering any questions, processing orders and communicating with the factory.
Have you had any other roles whilst working at Atlas Copco?
I was working for Customer Support in Tools division, but they work in a little bit of a different way, I found their orders a little less complicated. They place the orders directly with PTD, our ordering centre, and the tasks I would do were sort of similar to my role now, but a little bit less complicated as I have to deal with moving factories now. Our machines have always got special options, which have to be ordered from different factories, so the logistics side in Power Technique is a bit different.
What has been your favourite memory whilst being at Atlas Copco?
I like interacting with customers, and I think that one of my favourite moments I have had is when Nick, one of our Sales Engineers, and I had a few days out to visit a few customers. It was pretty cool to get to know them in person, find out what they want, what kind of people they are and what the expectations are. It’s a different business to what I was previously used to, and it’s nice to meet the different customers.
I have worked with different Customer Support teams, and between divisions, the product ranges vary so much. That has been interesting too. I remember when I worked for the Tools division we had a team building day out where we went paint balling. That was a great day because everyone interacted. We were in teams and competing against each other, but still had a joke with each other after.
I like the structure of Atlas Copco, it is a safe working environment, and employee friendly. It really feels like people strive to be one big team.
Which Power Technique product would you describe yourself as?
Maybe the product that I deal with on a daily basis, which is compressors. Our series 8 compressors have slightly different builds to other compressors and they look quite quirky in my opinion. Last year at Hillhead we had a rainbow of compressors, which looked so cool and fun. And we are always innovating with the compressor, like with electric options, which shows our compressors have room to grow and great opportunities, like I do.
